I thought I read somewhere that it is possible to save or export a marked up pdf file on the Note pro as a PNG file. Can anyone confirm? If so how?

Hello, you could export the scribbles or sidenote in PNG format by going to the menu option and then go to TOC and you could choose the scribbles or sidenote to export.
