Is there a way to do this? There is no palm / elbow rejection recognition in the device and my elbow keep hitting the screen buttons in the bottom bar of the Note app whenever I do handwriting (a big reason for why I bought the device).

I had the same concern as it would be a reason to return the device. Is a problem of a ‘touch screen’
But - update to the latest firmware - the bar moves to the top. Works better now.
Dear, I suggest that you upgraden it to the newest version first.
